Cultural Management Job Market in the U.S.

This week I reached an inquiry from Kaiserslautern: "How can I find cultural management jobs in the U.S."

Here is my answer in a nutshell: The best
Job Market can be found on the pages of professional associations such as American Museum Association, Opera America, League of American Orchestras. The leading medium for Development (Fundraising) Jobs is The Chronicle of Philanthropy. But Higher Education Jobs provides a good overview.
In search of cultural management in principle to "arts administration" look or "arts management".
generally listen to most organizations their job openings on its website at "opportunities" frequently in the "about".

So, good luck and I will gladly answer any questions!

Hollywood celebrates volunteering

61.8 million Americans (26.4% of all adults) exercise a non-profit activity. President Obama took advantage of the enthusiasm when he took office in January, around the themes of his agenda, including the promotion of voluntary work. Now a powerful partners from Hollywood comes to the rescue. From 19
October at the American entertainment industry, the Ehrenmant, voluntary participation in charitable purposes, to honor one weeks across the country on the screen. With the aim to inspire more people for volunteering to devote about 60 transmitters on their air time in the various formats: morning news, soap operas, police and hospital dramas, comedies, reality TV and talk shows. Even the desperate housewives from the Wisteria Lane will be called to the scene and set up a Neighbourhood Support group, motto "Here, pay attention."
The stories are either written into the series and the characters work for existing or fictitious entity or it will be portrayed in the news talk shows and a variety of people and their employees. In a "tagline" that follows the credits, will call for volunteer actors. The "tagging for causes," the call at the end of a program was already in the last year on environmental protection successfully placed in the scene. (Here's a compilation of promo spots with the stars of "Gossip Girl" is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld4iVZAVsqc).
The initiative, under the title "I Participate" runs, was founded by Hollywood's largest non-profit organization, the Entertainment Industry Foundation to life. With a board of film, television, Hollywood's most powerful agencies and unions here are at work. Hollywood as America's greatest export is U.S. recited. We shall perhaps be SOON mother Beimer, Stefan Raab, Lena Odenthal and Guenther Jauch on tours in the museum, watch food expenditure in the "table" or reading aloud for children in the hospital? The dignity of our image of volunteering, the upgrade in Germany as often dusty and employment for seniors will be seen?
