HowTo Audigy 2 (4) and Vista
I changed because of the general constraint on Vista and have to say: Since SP1 and the 64 bit version actually runs quite well. OK, that it should be 4GB Ram Quad Core CPU, (ranging from definitely not 2GB Ram), but a new operating system requires current hardware, it was always like that. Frequently cited are
driver problems it hardly, steering wheel, joystick, scanner, TV card etc work at first. Creative just does not like Vista. Owner of Audigy sound cards will probably be 1-4 driven to "upgrade" to a newer X-Fi. The reason: the Audigy driver support in Vista is a bad joke to say the least. It's really just the Windows volume control, a Control Center, EAX, THX or other gimmicks. One may say that these tools are irrelevant annoying, but at the latest when watching TV, listening to music and watch movies from the devil is the subwoofer 5.1 system quiet. Too quiet. The necessary bass redirection on the front right channel does not work for lack of driver support. KxProjekt driver (free alternative) do not offer 64bit versions. Xfi driver can not be . Reinstall
The solution: a said daniel_k developed a modified Audigy drivers for Vista, which offers all of XP known functions. You can find it on Google, the first 3 entries are quite nice: LINK . wobbles
Finally back of the floor with the Audigy 2 ZS on Vista 64bit:)
