Two recommended, new boards of two great women: Fredrika Stahl "Tributaries" and Sil per Nergaard "Darkness out of blue"
For her 2006 debut album A Fraction Of You rightly earned the native Swedish Fredrika Stahl great acclaim from listeners and the experts. I'm personally in 2007 was the quality of their mix of jazz, swing and pop-known Jazz Festival in southern France Juan-les-Pins convinced.
With the new record Tributaries , that contain it (with the exception of the first piece) written and composed himself again, she continues her fresh and original signature. Outstanding I find the lightly grooving title Irreplaceable .
My second tip is Darkness CD out of the blue of Silje Nergaard . Silje won the USA Songwriters Competition in 1999 and is now not only in their homeland, the jazz vocalists-nerd country Norway, a star. 2007 inspired me in worsted Kaiserslautern with a super concert in which she accompanied a relevant string ensemble.
Silje Nergaard's fourth album is a concentrate, a new chapter. Maybe it's the new band or the new producer. Darkness Out Of Blue has to offer even more than the previous recordings. The interpretation is as always: great (jazz) musicians, top sound, warm and transparent. The plate shines between pop and jazz, folklore, made consistently tasteful and intelligent.
