Sample Letter Of Encouragement

Tutorial: Backing up Steam files!

How do I secure my Steam files whenever I need Windows format?

Step 1.

The gcf files are responsible and must be secured.
Regular backup is not very good idea anyway to crash in Windows everything must be updated again. The size is about
namely 4.5 gigabyte up depending on configuration and can last forever if you've never done ;-)
you'll see the files under
  • C: \\ Program Files \\ Steam \\ steamapps

my Do not trust it. gcf files look different, As with you, it's because I've installed another program that in another TUT is further explained in more detail.

Step 2: Copy

now all files ending with. gcf anywhere.
The number varies depending on how many games you have installed.
Ca. 8 pieces up

-> Attention

If formatting you get your disk do you have to necessarily the files not on the desktop or C: / save but n on one other hard disks. D: / burn or even better on CD.
Do you have neither, it is not, unfortunately. ^ ^

Step 3: Install the

Steam Installer and let it update.

Step 4:

right click the game in Steam to install what you want.
And let's start with the update.
you see now, the progress bar 0% etc.

Step 5: IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY! end

update with right click on the play / stop / pause.
Steam with right click quit in the Task Bar.
In:

  • C: \\ Program Files \\ Steam \\ steamapps
check whether because the gcf files are already there..
know If yes, you start the backup. Gcf clean copy files.
Lasse deceive you but not by the the. Gcf files in there contain are also said to be as large as the one you want to copy.
If you are asked whether you want to replace it OK to confirm .

Step 6:

Now if you did everything in the correct order then you can start again and voila all Steam games are back to 100%

DONE ;-)
